Read about our approach to exterior painting, interior painting, power washing and deck restoration below

Exterior Painting
The most important part of painting a house is in the knowledge and application of procedures in the preparation process. We power wash all surfaces to assure they are free of dirt, foreign materials, and most importantly mold and mildew.

All loose, cracking and peeling paint is sanded smooth to the bare wood. Holes and gaps around the trim and windows are filled. Window glazing is repaired. All exposed wood is primed to seal the wood and give proper adhesion for the top coat of paint, stain, or other material.

Finally we apply the proper amount of finish paint to all surfaces. Too many coats can cause peeling and too few will shorten the life of the paint job. Each house requires a unique number of coats. We will inform you of your specific needs.

Preparation:
This is the crucial to a successful paint job. This is our specialty. Corners cannot be cut here. We are often called upon to redo other companies' work. That is why we make certain prep work is done properly and we have knowledge of the materials used.

Sanding
Using power sanding equipment to strip or feather-in peeling areas as needed requires skill and an understanding of different surfaces. Scraping is also used in tough to reach areas. Our painters are highly experienced with all phases of preparation.

Caulking
Caulking is essential in sealing moisture out and adds an element of weather stripping. Carpenter bees and woodpeckers can leave rather large holes in the wood and sometimes it is necessary to replace the wood.

Interior Painting
Protection of furnishings:
We cover all items for example, furniture, floors etc with plastic and canvas tarps to keep out dust and any paint drips. All valuables are removed from the room and placed in other areas until that room is complete.

Preparation:
We do many types of preparation depending on each room's needs. The preparation process an application of methods and materials used is the most important part of a quality paint job.

  • Wallpaper removal and restoration of cracks in plaster and sheetrock. Removal of cracking tape and application of new tape. Removal of bad sheetrock and replacement with new and blending the repaired area so it does not show after paint is applied.
  • Caulking of all seams and gaps around trim moldings, windows and doors to tighten up these areas so the paint cuts look tight from wall colors, ceilings and trim.
  • Skim coat is the application of compound known as mud. This is a process to cover walls and ceilings eliminating blemishes. For example, wallpaper may have been removed in the past and all the glue had not been removed before painting, or a large roller head may have left the surface looking like an orange peel. This process eliminates the blemishes so your surfaces look like new.
  • Removal of textured ceilings. Sand or popcorn ceilings that may have had water damage in the past and have been repaired but the repair is noticeable. We can remove the textured areas completely to the bare sheetrock ready for paint.
  • Application of paints, stains, polyurethane or other premium coverings. We use premium paints and other coverings like Benjamin Moore Paints in all finishes appropriate for each room.
  • Finishes By finishes we mean semi gloss, flat, eggshell, high gloss, or satin. Each finish has a different sheen level that can be selected for each part of the house. These finishes are chosen for a particular look, or for washability and durability in high traffic areas. Also as a moisture barrier for bathrooms and washable finishes for kitchens or hallways where for example, hand oils, grease from cooking, or crayon on a child's bedroom wall can be scrubbed off with ease.

    Power washing
The process of power washing before painting an exterior is to remove mold, mildew and other foreign materials. It also identifies any rotten areas that need replacing and areas that are peeling or cracking - making needed pre-paint preparation clearer. We use a bleach solution that does not affect your plantings in any way. This process is safe and effective to get your house ready for a long lasting and beautiful paint job.

    Maintenance Power Washing
This low cost maintenance process keeps your house looking new. Another important point is it removes mold and mildew that may or may not be visible to you. Although your house may appear clean, the wash, mild with bleach, will kill these things and increase the longevity of the paint job. We highly recommend this every two years. Regular power washing extends the time between having to paint the whole house, sometimes eight to ten years depending on exposure.

    Deck Restoration
There are a wide variety of options to beautify and protect your deck from UV rays and moisture that will allow you to enjoy your deck for many years.
  • colored deck paint
  • solid, semi-solid, or semi-transparent stains
  • oiled finishes for deep penetration and color
  • clear coat finish that maintains wood in the natural state but gives UV ray protection and is water repellent.
You are the BEST! A pleasure to deal with as well as trustworthy, honest, ...and very reliable...Your work, over the years, has always been exceptional. Your attention to detail and often times going beyond what is expected.
Thank you so much, Mary Marino
